Local dog training you can trust

Off Leash K9 Training is the most-loved dog training company serving Spanish Springs and Washoe County.

Spanish Springs dogs get the same three board and train programs as the rest of the Reno area: the 7-day program for a fast start on an off-leash recall, the 10-day program for everyday on-leash obedience, and the two-week Urban K9 program for the busiest places you take your dog. Every program and price is on our plans and pricing page.

Why it matters

Why professional training is essential for Spanish Springs dog owners

Behavior modification

Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.

Safety & control

A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.

Stronger bond

Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.

Skills that transfer

We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.

Family harmony

A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

What we offer

Every program is a board and train: your dog stays with a professional trainer, then you get a one-on-one handover session at pickup. Here is how they compare.

Built for how Spanish Springs dogs actually live

Spanish Springs is the growing valley north of Sparks along Pyramid Way, an unincorporated part of Washoe County in the 89436 and 89441 ZIP codes. Newer neighborhoods sit right up against open desert and the hills that ring the valley.

Family neighborhoods mean dogs behind every fence, kids on bikes and delivery trucks on every street. A dog that reacts to all of it is exhausting to walk; a dog that heels past it is a pleasure. The 10-day program trains come, sit, down, place, heel and off around exactly those kinds of everyday distractions.

When you want your dog to handle the busiest places too, the Urban K9 program takes the training to high-distraction spots like busy events and shopping centers.

Frequently asked questions

Do you train dogs in Spanish Springs, NV?

Yes. Spanish Springs is part of the area we cover around Reno and Washoe County. We are not a walk-in storefront: your dog boards with a professional trainer for the program, visits are by appointment only, and drop-off and pick-up are arranged with you when you book.

My dog pulls on the leash and won't listen on walks. Can you help?

Yes. The 10-Day Board & Train Program trains a calm on-leash heel plus come, sit, down, place and the off command, which stops unwanted behavior, around the low-to-mid distractions of everyday life: parks, trails and neighborhood walks.

How much does dog training cost in Spanish Springs?

The same as anywhere we serve. The 7-Day Board & Train Program is $2,285, the 10-Day Board & Train Program is $2,785 and the 14-Day Urban K9 program is $3,385. You can compare them all on our plans and pricing page. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.

How old does my dog need to be?

At least 5 months old, for every program. We do not run a separate puppy program, so a younger dog waits until then.

What do I get at pickup?

A one-on-one handover session with your trainer, about an hour and a half for the 7-day program and two hours for the 10-day and Urban K9 programs, so you know how to handle everything your dog learned. Every program also includes a free lifetime refresher if the commands start to slip.
